Tory members must think they were wrong

-

✒ THE 81,326 Conservative Party members who elected Liz Truss to be Prime Minister must now be wondering if they made the correct choice.

Perhaps they are not affected by spiralling mortgage costs or the chaos in the financial markets.

Maybe they are satisfied with the reduction in corporation tax from the proposed 25% to just 19% and the reduced income tax.

Many ordinary people will not benefit from this Government largesse to the richest but instead will be paying for the cost of Government borrowing for years to come.

The PM has said that there will be no cuts in public spending.

The problem here is that public services are not being protected because they will have to cope with rising inflation from their current financing. Services are bound to suffer. We will remember!
