Lawrence gives Fairford lift-off

TWO goals from Jamal Lawrence gave Fairford Town a 3-0 Hellenic League, Premier Division win over Chipping Sodbury Town.

After a goalless first half, former Cheltenham Town forward Lawrence, inset, opened the scoring with a penalty before adding the second, Jerzy Marszalek rounding off the win.

In Division One, Moreton Rangers, Cheltenham Saracens and Bourton Rovers all lost 1-0.

Declan Mcstravick’s goal sent Morton to defeat at Calne Town, Jordan Jones scored for league leaders Pershore Town at Cheltenham Saracens, and Luca Robinson was Hartpury University’s match-winner against Bourton Rovers. Bottom side Cirencester Town Development were beaten 2-1 at Southam United.

On Tuesday night, two late goals saw Bourton Rovers go down to a 2-0 home defeat against new leaders Milton United despite a battling performance.
