Flying visit Early bird tickets on sale for air tattoo

THE Royal International Air Tattoo is one of the biggest events in the county calendar, attracting thousands to RAF Fairford to see the planes and aerial acrobatics.

Early bird tickets for the event are already on sale, including discounted tickets to see the multi-day airshow in style from one of the tattoo’s more exclusive enclosures.

At this year’s tattoo, in addition to seeing cutting-edge hardware from air forces from around the world, air crew and members of the public got the chance to meet Top Gun Maverick star Tom Cruise after he flew in on an Aerospatiale helicopter.

While there is no guarantee you will bump into a Hollywood heartthrob, or even astronaut Tim Peake, at next July’s event, you might stand a better chance by upgrading your ticket to enjoy the comfort of one of the many viewing enclosures.

With the 15 per cent early bird discount, prices for the family enclosure drop to £31 per adult, while the premium First Class Lounge goes to, well, £365.50.

Enclosure tickets are in addition to the tickets for general admission, which start at around £60 with the discount applied, although under-18s can enter for free.

They can be booked on airtattoo. com/airshow, with the discount running until January or while tickets last.

Next year’s airshow will be introducing a new enclosure just off the main taxiway, called Wingtip Garden, from where spectators can escape some of the hustle and bustle of the multi-day event.

Discounted tickets for the enclosures are bought as an upgrade to your ticket on the website, or, if you have already bought a ticket, it can be upgraded by signing in.

With the early bird discount, the enclosure prices are:

» Family Enclosure – £31 (adult), £18.50 (child) Viewing Village Garden – £21 Viewing Village Grandstand – £36.50 Wingtip Garden – £49 Flight Deck – £67 Cotswold Club – £75.50 Aviation Club – £150 First Class Lounge – £365.50
