Man, 22, charged with knifepoint robbery
A MAN has appeared in court in connection with a knifepoint robbery at a shop in Cheltenham.
The 22-year-old has been charged with robbery at Hester’s Way on October 23.
Jake Ahmed was arrested and charged last Wednesday and appeared in court the following day. He was remanded in custody.
A Gloucestershire police statement said: “A man has been arrested and charged and remanded in custody following a swift investigation by the Constabulary’s Operation Vanguard team, based in Cheltenham. It is alleged 22-year-old Jake Ahmed committed a knifepoint robbery at a shop in Hester’s Way in Cheltenham on Sunday, October 23.
“He was subsequently arrested by Vanguard officers on Wednesday (last week), charged and then appeared in court.”
Ahmed, of no fixed abode, was remanded in custody and is next due to appear at Gloucester Crown Court on November 25.
He has also been charged with theft offences.
