Stokes’ winner puts Levens clear at the top

BILLY Stokes’ goal sent leaders Longlevens Reserves three points clear in Northern Senior League Division One with a 1-0 win at English Bicknor.

Nathan Buckland and Jack Hughes gave second-placed Chalford a 2-1 win at Lydney Town Reserves but third-placed Charfield slipped up 3-1 at Woolaston, for whom Adam Giles, Elliott Greening and George King scored, Kerien Austin replying.

Jame Martin’s hat-trick for fourth-placed Brockworth Albion gave them a 6-1 win over Smiths Barometric­s, Matt Cairns adding two and Joel White the other while Jai Maisey replied.

Berkeley Town hit five at Abbeymead Rovers, Jake Haynes and Kyle Head scoring twice, Blaine Skuse getting the other.

Cheltenham Athletic are out of the bottom three after Ryan Cleal (two) and Ergys Berisha scored in the 3-1 win over Charlton Rovers, Dan Ledger replying. FC Lakeside and Bredon drew 1-1, Pat Freeman scoring for Lakeside and Sam Byde for Bredon.

Brett James’ hat-trick saw Division Two leaders Tredworth Tigers to a 4-2 win over Viney St Swithins. Tyler Hill got their other goal with Declan Powles’ double not enough for the Forest side.

Second-placed Tewkesbury Town lost their 100 per cent record after being held 1-1 at Harrow Hill, Luke Mayo netting for Hill and Elliot Bloom for Town.

Harry Barr scored twice for third-placed Staunton and Corse in their 3-0 win over Leonard Stanley, Steve Carpenter getting the other.

Fourth-placed Bibury won 8-3 at Mushet and Coalway United. Max Lukaweckyj hit four of them, Alex Harding scoring twice and Archie Day and Declan Keen getting the others, Mushet’s goals coming from Curtis

Shane Tanner, Tyler Gingell, Nathan Beachus and Steve Wakefield were among the scorers as King’s Stanley hit five past Barnwood United for their first win of the season.

Josh Fivash and Michael Mccauley sealed a 2-1 win for Cheltenham Civil Service Reserves over Frampton United Reserves, and Chesterton beat Broadwell Amateurs Reserves 4-2 as an own goal, Bayley Hall, James Piatek and Rob Watson sealed the win, while Michael Etheridge and Taylor Blaby scored the Broadwell goals.
