Bourton beaten by 10-man Shortwood

» BOURTON Rovers lost 3-1 at home to Hellenic League Division One thirdplace­d side Shortwood United, who played more than 70 minutes with 10 men.

Wood took the lead after three minutes as Keegan Bowes’ cross saw Harvey Brookes fire past his own keeper from 15 yards out.

Ben Tunnicliff was rightly sent off for a horrible challenge after 20 minutes, but on the stroke of half time Jacob Eakers was fouled in the box and Jake Rhodes scored the penalty.

Wood scored the third after 68 minutes as Nathan Payne’s free kick was headed home by Rhodes.

Bourton won a penalty after 72 minutes, Danny Way putting it away.

Moreton Rangers beat Clanfield 85 3-2, with Callum Briggs scoring twice and Sam Beddoes also on target.

Cheltenham Saracens came from a goal down to beat Long Crendon 3-1 with goals from Lewis Newell, James Barnes-wills and an own goal.

Bourton got a win on Tuesday night in the GFA Challenge Trophy, beating Cirenceste­r Town Developmen­t 4-0 with goals from Deqwon Ebanks, Jordan Mitchell and two for Way.
