Daffodil back in bloom with new lease of life

-

» THE Daffodil has reopened – with the former restaurant now having new uses.

There was disappointment in the town in August this year when it emerged that the business in Suffolk Parade had closed as a restaurant due to pressures during the COVID-19 pandemic and difficulty in recruiting enough high quality staff.

It had long been regarded as one of Cheltenham’s most elegant destinations for special occasions, with people delighting in the ornate Art Deco surroundings of the former 1920s cinema.

But now the business is trading again, albeit not as a restaurant.

Signs outside the premises say it is available for weddings, private hire and pop-up events.

Staff said, on its Facebook page: “The Daffodil is back in business! We have some very exciting news to share... we may have closed as a restaurant but we are reopening for events!” The news pleased supporters of the venue, who commented on the page. One said: “After such a beautiful refit earlier this year, I am pleased to read this. Good news.”

The first of The Daffodil’s Saturday night comedian nights starts on December 3, with Jo Enright.
