Missing Link scheme would have no benefit

- Douglas F Vick Cheltenham

REGARDING the ‘Missing Link’ scheme, I have written millions of letters and emails to the Government, MPS, the media and Uncle Tom Cobley and all - all to no avail when stating the reasons why this project is a waste of taxpayers’ money.

Twice-daily congestion which dissipates in 10-15 minutes maximum, and more accidents on the M5 in one month than seven years on this stretch.

The signage is excellent, just abide by it.

A road is an inanimate object; bad driving causes accidents.

It will bring no benefit to our area. I thought belt-tightening was to be the order of the day but evidently the Government has more money than sense.

We have debts and are haemorrhaging money, with £600 million down the pan for this idiocy.

Plus, to destroy a Gloucestershire Heritage landmark, The Air Balloon, is sacrilege.

There are so many less expensive issues to address in our lovely county.
