A Farmers’ Market will be held on the Promenade from 9am to 2pm tomorrow selling local produce.

A Victorian Christmas at Sixways is returning tomorrow from 5.30pm. Why not dress up in your best top hat or bonnet and join the Dickensian characters taking over the shops on Sixways. The evening begins in the Secret Garden opposite Sixways Wine Bar with the “Cheltenham Children’s Choir” performing at 5.30pm followed by the St Edwards School Choir performing at 6pm. Father Christmas and his Elf will be greeting families and welcoming donations of long-life food for the Cheltenham food pantries outside Olive Chiropract­ic. The children’s choirs will be looking forward to meeting Father Christmas for a sweet treat when they finish their turns singing! “The Wednesdays” singing group will be keeping the musical entertainm­ent going singing outside Cotswold Bespoke Flooring on London Road from 6.pm. There will be night opening until 7.30pm at: Cotswold Bespoke Flooring, The Hat Shop, Front- Community Hub Gift Shop, Latchford Gifts, Mercy in Action Boutique Charity Shop, Olive Chiropract­ic, Roasted Cafe Ltd, Scarlet monkey, Waffle. In addition, you can enjoy the usual evening venues with Cheltenham Wine Company, London Inn Charlton Kings, Kings Tandoori & Balti and the new Italian Milano pizzeria all operating their usual evening opening times.

Betheseda Church and Scouts are having a Christmas Fair from 10.30am to 2pm on Saturday in Betheseda Church Hall. Lunches will be served from noon and there will be many stalls selling gifts, toys, jewellery, books, cakes and bric a brac.

The Christmas Lights will be switched on by Father Christmas at Pittville Pump Room at 6pm on Saturday

Charlton Kings Choral Society and the Regency Sinfonia conducted by John Wright are performing a concert of music by Vaughan Williams and Holst on Saturday (November 26th) at 7.45pm in St Philip and St James Church, 60 Grafton Road, Leckhampto­n GL50 2DL. St Mary’s Church, Charlton Kings are holding a service, Advent by Candleligh­t, with hymns and readings for the Advent season at 6.30pm on Sunday.

Charlton Kings Flower club meet at 2.30pm on Monday in St Mary’s Parish Centre. A demonstrat­ion entitled “Christmas is coming” will be given by Area Demonstrat­or Margaret Walker. There will be a raffle and light refreshmen­ts. All are welcome and cost for visitors is £5.

Charlton Kings Parish Council will hold a Full Council meeting at 7pm on Monday in Stanton Hall.

Charlton Kings’ many trees enhance the beauty of our parish and are good for our well-being. St Mary’s Churchyard at the centre of the historic village has both native and ‘exotic’ species. In a free 45 minute guided walk on December 1, you could learn about the trees that grow in the churchyard from a tree expert and Cheltenham’s Tree Officer, Chris Chavasse. A COP27 Vigil in the Promenade by the War Memorial will take place from 12.30-1.30pm on November 27 and on the same date and same place each month throughout 2022/23. All are welcome to join in this vigil and those taking part are offering passers by cards saying ‘Rethink, Re-imagine, Reuse, Recycle, Rejoice’, with suggestion­s for action people might consider taking in order to mitigate the damage from climate change.
