Shock as presents for children taken from step

-

A MOTHER was sickened to watch someone appear to take her two young children’s Christmas presents following a delivery drop to the doorstep of the family home.

The items were picked up and taken away in broad daylight and the police are appealing for information about a reported theft.

Mother Victoria Bees, 42, from Cheltenham could not believe what she saw when she watched ring doorbell footage back and saw someone walk up to the front door and take her children’s toys away.

“The incident took place while the family were watching one of the children’s end of year plays.

Mrs Bees said: “We were at my fiveyear-old daughter’s end of year play so I was not on my phone at the time. I did not see the notification of the ring doorbell motion sensor.

“The delivery was not meant to come until Monday as I had bought the toys and items for my husband online as part of the Black Friday deals.

“My younger son is partially deaf, and has speech delay, so I bought him a speaking tablet from the sale.

“Everyone is struggling with the cost of living. We are all trying to keep our heads above water.

“I was crying, and the children were crying. I have told the children the person who took the gifts will be given a lump of coal and is now on the naughty list.”

Victoria said she worked hard to provide for her family and said if the person was stealing the gifts, it was a ‘scummy’ thing to do.

Gloucestershire police said in a statement: “Police are investigating a report of items being stolen from outside an address on Royal Crescent, Cheltenham at around 1.40pm on Sunday, November 27.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Gloucestershire Constabulary through the website bit.ly/3sjkebp quoting incident 247 of November 27.”
