WE are writing about the missing link (A 417) from Crickley Hill to Nettleton Bottom.

We wonder if it is morally justified to press ahead with this massive road building scheme when the country is in the financial state it is.

So many families are facing starvation and freezing homes as well as financial crisis this winter.

This applies to all of us because of this Governments ineptitude to the cost of living crisis. Many of us will be struggling to make ends meet this winter.

We want to talk about the dreadful state of some roads and paths in Cheltenham and the surrounding areas.

Some roads are good but some are in a dreadful state of repair and need urgent attention before any new roads are considered. The £460m spent on the bypass would be better spent on repairing roads and paths.

We feel that the new bypass should be postponed for another year or two until more repair work is done on existing roads and paths. This would help everyone.
