» POLICE investigations into a doublefatal collision in Gloucestershire were continuing this week. Two people died following the four-vehicle crash on the B4425 at Riversmeet North, near Aldsworth in the Cotswolds, on Friday.

A Cirencester man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene. A London woman in her 30s was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol and died overnight into Saturday.

The collision, involving a grey Mini Cooper, black Audi A3, grey Polestar 2 and a black Seat Leon, happened shortly after 12.45pm between the Coln St Aldwyns and Eastington turnings. Next of kin of those who died have been informed.

Gloucesteshire police said 10 other people were also taken to hospitals across the region for treatment, also including Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, Cheltenham General and John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. Some had serious injuries and others have been discharged after treatment.

An 18-year-old woman from Chipping Norton who was arrested in connection with the incident has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The collision closed the B4425 and surrounding roads for several hours as collision investigators worked at the scene. Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who has not already spoken to police and has information they feel may be relevant.

Anyone who has dashcam or CCTV footage which they believe would be relevant is also asked to make contact. Information can be submitted to police by completing an online form and quoting incident 251 of December 2.
