Brockworth hold nerve to win final place in penalty shootout

BROCKWORTH Albion are through to the GFA Senior Amateur Cup final after a penalty shoot-out win over University of Bristol.

Their semi-final ended 0-0 but Matt Cairns, Jamie Martin, Ash Bird and Josh Coakley scored in the shoot-out to book a final against County League side Hanham Athletic.

They beat Longlevens Reserves 3-2, with goals for Alex Knight and Billy Stokes not enough for the Gloucester side.

In the County League, Broadwell Amateurs led leaders Avonmouth 2-0 but had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Broadwell led through Kian Skidmore and Jarred Liddington, but two penalties, converted by Alfie Taylor and Charlie Aldom meant they had to settle for a point.

Next-to-bottom Gala Wilton earned a crucial 2-0 win over the side just above them, Almondsbur­y, with goals from Tim Hill and Jacob Eakers.

Sharpness were 3-2 winners at Little Stoke, leading through James Priday, but Ethan Moore levelled. A clearance was deflected in by Sean Heal for 2-1, then Will Tainton made it three before a late penalty for Little Stoke, converted by Lewis Hughes.

Ruardean Hill Rangers were 2-0 winners at Quedgeley Wanderers, with goals from Kane Fellows and Fin Jones.

Bottom side Hardwicke lost 2-1 at Wick, who led 2-0 through Liam Jenkins and Mike Hardiman, Hardwicke replying with a Harley Mustoe penalty.

Tredworth Tigers lead Northern Senior League, Division One by two points after coming from 2-0 down with 30 minutes left to beat English Bicknor 3-2.

Dave Rich, Jacob Ferguson and Corey Hill scored for Tigers, with Bicknor’s goals coming from Kalum and Toby Wildig.

Second-placed Longlevens Reserves have two games in hand with Dursley Town a further point back with a game in hand on Tredworth after their 0-0 draw with Chalford.

Louis Hyde, Christian Hayward and an own goal helped fourth-placed Smiths Barometric­s to a 3-0 lead over bottom side Berkeley Town.

Archie Day scored twice as Bibury beat FC Lakeside 5-3, with Greg Carter, Jay Griffiths and James Piatek also on target.

Lydney Town Reserves beat Bredon 4-3 thanks to a stoppage time winner. Lydney’s goals came from Tyler Blount, Aston Jeffs, Sam Wines and Joel Morse, with Scott Jordan, Toby Patterson and Ben Turner netting for Bredon.

William Parry and Gareth Pedley both scored twice as Charfield beat Woolaston 6-0, Theo Wharin and Zach Mcallister with the others.

The top two in Division Two were both beaten, with Mushet & Coalway United beating Whaddon United 3-2, while Staunton & Corse lost 2-1 at home to Cheltenham Civil Service Reserves.

Curtis Whatley, Mostyn Wood and Daniel Jones were on target for Mushet, while Zack Hodges netted twice for Whaddon, who suffered their first defeat of the season.

Mark Jones and Mikolaj Rewczuk netted for Civil, with Liam James netting for Staunton & Corse.

Whaddon are a point clear with five games in hand, with Rodborough Old Boys in third, four points behind Staunton with four games in hand as goals from Josh Kerr, Lance Reynolds and Jamie Walker beat Lydbrook Athletic 3-0.

Jamie Webley and Matthew Pegrum were among the goals as fourth-placed Barnwood United beat King’s Stanley 4-3, Daniel Carman, Lloyd Gardiner and Tyler Gingell scoring for Stanley.

Jack Dalby hit a hat-trick in fifth-placed Harrow Hill’s 5-0 win at Leonard Stanley, Ryan Edwards and Darren Weyman with the others.

Jake Clack, Stan Shilton and Jacob Harper scored as Frampton United beat Chesterton 3-0, while Ciprian Brinca netted for Falcons in their 1-1 draw with Gala Wilton Reserves.
