Six of the best seals Robins’ first win of 2024

CHELTENHAM Town earned their first FA Women’s National League Southern Premier win of 2024 after a 6-3 success at bottom side London Bees.

An action-packed opening 20 minutes saw Bees take the lead but an instant reply from Ella Pemberton and Phoebie Poole saw the Robins ahead.

Charlie Taylor made it 3-1, Henna Butcher and Emily Allen made it 5-1, before the Bees pulled two back just before half time.

The second half was quieter, with Poole’s second goal wrapping up the points.

Gloucester City were edged out 4-3 at Weston-super-mare in the SW Women’s League Northern Division Cup, Jayda Garza, Liberty Ross and Paige Todd on target.

County Women’s League, Division One leaders Cirenceste­r Town suffered their first defeat of the season, going down 5-4 to second-placed Dursley Town.

Rhian Robbins scored twice, with Phoebe Booth, Lucy Jones and Lily Hobbs getting the others, Cirenceste­r’s goals coming from Jodie Bailey, Eden Marsh, Amelia Dudding and Libby Messenger.

Sophie Sharpe’s hat-trick gave Cheltenham Saracens a 4-2 win over Tuffley Rovers, Leah Rhodes with the other goal, while Maisie Gaffney and Chloe Taylor replied.

Cheltenham Civil Service hit back to win 3-1 over Bishop’s Cleeve, who led through Leonie Gough but goals from Katie Ashmead, Jessica Brown and Bethany Sullivan turned it round.

In Division Two, Olivia Kosylowicz scored four times as Longlevens crushed Cheltenham Town Developmen­t 8-0.

Hayley Pitt, Mel Hoad (two) and Beth Hicks scored the others, and they are a point behind Gloucester City Developmen­t with three games in hand.

City were 3-0 winners over Downend Flyers Reserves, with first-half goals from Nicole Lewis, Zoe Gabb and Mirry Smith.

Lauren Larner, Vanisha Patel and Maria Hernandez Garcia gave Andoversfo­rd a 3-0 Division Three win at Lydney Town.

Sian Towler and Anna Symanowski netted for Kingswood as they lost 3-2 at University of Bristol, and Bitton Developmen­t had a walkover against Mitcheldea­n.
