Taylormade M5 & M6 Mizuno JPX

A new addition to the JPX919 iron range is the Hot Metal Pro, said to offer better players Hot Metal-like distance in a more compact form.

It shares all the design features and performance attributes of the original JPX919 Hot Metal, including a multithickness face that promotes accelerated ball speeds, helped by a seamless one-piece cup-face construction and stability frame open at the heel portion to enhance stability. The smaller, more workable profile of the Hot Metal Pro model features a slimmed-down topline and sole and reduced offset. Both the new M5 and M6 irons feature a Speed Bridge, a highstrength structural beam running across the cavity to connect the topline with the back bar of the iron. By connecting these specific points that vibrate at impact, the increased rigidity in the topline and upper perimeter of the face delivers improved sound and feel with increased ball speed. The new Speed Bridge also allows for the Thru-slot design of the Speed Pocket to shift the point of maximum deflection lower on the face. This activates the Speed Pocket more efficiently, delivering enhanced flexibility over a larger area for added distance over M3 and M4. Also in the M5 and M6 irons is a Hybrar damping system, while multi-material badges control and minimise vibration for a soft and solid feel. Also new for 2019 is a JPX Fli-hi, a club designed to launch the ball high and land it softly from longer range. It achieves this thanks to a distinctive ‘face-forward’ profile, while the Wave soleplate allows the front portion of the sole to flex for increased ball speeds, especially on mishits low on the face. A Drop Down crown design aids alignment and allows more weight to be shifted low in the clubhead to facilitate a higher launch. The CG also moves progressively forward as loft increases to moderate the flight.
