STAY & PLAY Leeds Castle
Par 34, 2,843 yards
The chance to stay and play in the grand setting of the 500-acre Leeds Castle estate in Kent is a rare privilege. Accommodation options range from B&B in the Stable Courtyard or Maiden’s
Tower to one of several lovely holiday cottages or even glamping.
The pretty nine-hole course dates back to 1931, when Lady Baillie commissioned Sir Guy Campbell to create a course for her party guests to enjoy. You’ll need your wits about you over the short but tight opening holes, before emerging into more expansive terrain from the 5th to 7th as you play down to, and around, the castle moat. The need for precision returns on the par-4 9th, which plays down and round to the left before rising to the green.
