The American’s career trajectory is only a little behind Rahm’s, although his demeanour is more quietly determined than laid bare for all to see. He’s missed just 17 cuts from his first 100 PGA Tour events, bagged four wins – including The Tour Championship in his first full year – and notched up 26 top-tens, including six of the 14 Majors he’s so far contested. Throw in 3rd, 2nd and 2nd in the last three Fedexcups, and if ever a man other than Rahm seemed destined for Major success, surely it’s Schauffele.
