Nikon Coolshot 40 i GII

-

Compact and very slick, the Nikon’s battery port fits nicely between your thumb and index finger. It’s a little lighter, so slightly more unsteady when trying to pick out flags in the wind.

Very sharp, with a wide field of view that really helps off the tee when scanning the horizon. It seemed easy to pick out different targets and it tells you both distances in slope mode.

You have to hold the Nikon further from your face to get a clear view, but the features are easy to alter. The carry case has an elasticated clip, and while there’s no zip, it’s unlikely to fall out.

Displays distances very quickly. We also like the Actual Distance indicator blinking green when the slope function is disabled, so your playing partners know you’re abiding by the rules.

It’s premium priced, but has the functions and compact design golfers crave to get fast, accurate distances with minimal fuss. The case lacks style, but we can’t fault the user experience.
