Carne was originally a top-notch 18-holer, with the front nine consisting of strong but perhaps less spectacular links holes and the back nine a rollercoaster ride through the dunes. A newer nine, the Kilmore, has recently been merged with the original back nine to create the Wild Atlantic Dunes. This means the thrills and drama are present for a full 18, with the original front nine still available when you need a breather.
