Heavier shafts generally suit stronger players, both physically and in terms of ability. Lighter shafts launch higher and can sometimes produce more speed, which is why older golfers tend to gravitate towards them.

Legendole, GM Forum This depends how comfortable you are knowing you’re using a club that isn’t quite right for you. If you know your spec it will come close to being optimal, but performance of clubs changes every year and so might the way you need to set them up. It may cost a bit more, but isn’t the peace of mind that comes with a fitting worth the extra investment? I certainly think so.
