How do I play a ball below my feet?

- By Top 25 Coach Keith Williams

Because the ball is several inches below the feet, the club wants to travel on a more vertical (upward) swing plane. A slightly more tilted posture accommodates this and will help you get to the bottom of the ball. A lot of amateurs lean into their heels because it’s the instinctive thing to do, but all it does is shallow out the swing plane – and that will often result in a strike halfway up the ball.
