This course has been on its present site since 1906 and there are plenty of strong holes, with the 2nd and 3rd asking early questions. The elevated par-3 8th is very inviting, and the long 9th runs back up to the clubhouse between trees along what was once scarily known as Murder Alley. The back nine is even more scenic, with the last three holes the prettiest of the lot, taking you up, down and then back up the hill at the par-5 18th to a two-tier green.
