Ping 2021 Autumn/winter Apparel from £50
If you want to keep playing through the off-season then your wardrobe needs to be up to scratch, and Ping’s stylish new autumn/ winter range has been designed to cater for every environmental eventuality.
The updated Sensordry Series now features three options: the Sensordry 2.5 suit, the Sensordry Pro suit and the Sensordry suit, each of which offers protection in the wettest of conditions. The Sensordry 2.5 jacket (£200) is extremely lightweight, fully seam-sealed and has stretch 2.5-layer fabric to provide golfers with mobile, breathable outerwear. The Sensordry Pro jacket (£160) has additional features for extra warmth in cold and wet weather, thanks to the brushed tricot lining. Finally, there’s the Sensordry jacket (£110), which has an inner stretch mesh lining and hook-andloop cuffs for comfort.
Moving into the thermal layers, there is the Norse S3 jacket (£160), which features Primaloft Thermoplume insulation. This comprises small, silky plumes of fibre that mimic the lightweight warmth and softness of high-quality natural down to deliver heat insulation, water-resistant protection and compressibility.
Also new is the Power half zip wind top (£90), the windproof Dover jacket (£85) and the Felix fleece mid-layer (£70), with its geometric camouflage pattern in three colour options.
The women’s collection is centred around elegant paisley prints, found on many pieces including the Marlena hybrid jacket, which provides warmth and water-resistance.
1. Which is the standout piece in the range, and why?
The new designs in the Sensordry Series. They have been expanded to provide golfers with a comprehensive range of wetweather protection, which enables them to continue playing throughout the winter months, even in the wettest conditions.
2. How should golfers choose which pieces to combine?
Each Sensorcool, Sensorwarm and Sensordry product is performance-driven. They work in combination together to provide versatile layering outfits, allowing golfers to look their best on and off the course. Every golfer is aware of the difficult conditions we can face, especially in Europe, and we have designed our AW21 range with this in mind.
3. What fashion trends have you acknowledged with this collection?
Functional and decorative quilting remain on-trend for this season. Our traditional quilted styles have been elevated with new geometric patterns. In mid-layers, we are using soft grid fleeces, brushed-back windproof fabrics with four-way stretch and 3D jacquards, all providing water-resistance from winter showers. For visual appeal, our geometric interpretation of the classic camo is used in the Felix fleece and in our expanding range of coordinating accessories, as the trend for camouflage remains strong.
“PING’S APPAREL HAS BEEN UNDERRATED FOR A WHILE NOW. THIS NEW RANGE PERFORMS AND IS REALLY PLEASING ON THE EYE”
