Stop at the halfway hut or not? Yeah, definitely.

What’s the right thing to eat there?

A sausage butty is the right thing to eat, and whatever you want to drink – if you need an alcoholic beverage, then go for it, and if not, just go for some water.

Minimum amount of time to leave yourself before tee off?

Minimum? I’d say 30 minutes – park up, go to the toilet and then you’ve got about 20 minutes left. You’ve got to chat before you get to the tee, and then you’re off.

How do you handle 1st-tee nerves?

Choose the club you’re most comfortable with.

And read greens?

Always read it from the lowest side of the slope. If you had a book or phone in front of you and held it this way [angles phone away from him] you wouldn’t be able to read it. This way is alright [holds phone flat], but if it’s actually facing you, it’s so much easier to read.

How should you adapt for wind?

Use your set-up to dictate the shot. Don’t try and overly force a golf shot against the wind. Just try and set up to give yourself room.
