The choice of mid-layers on the market seems endless and it can sometimes be difficult to know where to start. Relatively speaking, many will deem a mid-layer as a luxury purchase, given the price, so it pays to invest in one (or two) that does the job you want it to. You may deem a waterproof jacket as an unnecessary purchase, so perhaps it is worth considering a water-resistant or showerproof
