Course of the Year
Royal County Down Golf Club’s Championship course
The stunning links in Newcastle on the County Down coast takes the award in 2021 for climbing to No.1 on Golf Monthly’s Top 100 UK&I Courses list for the first time.
RCD is one of the most photographed tracks in the world and recent changes, including new bunkering and new championship tees, mean it now represents the very pinnacle of golfing quality in these isles. As GM’S courses expert Jezz Ellwood puts it, “It provides an exhilarating yet challenging rollercoaster ride through the dunes.”
Dumbarnie Links went straight into the Top 100 at 40, a tremendous addition to the rich golfing opportunities on the Fife coast, and with significant recent renovations to the links, the Shore and Himalayas course at Prince’s in Kent climbed into the Top 100.
