Best Moment in the Amateur Game

Louise Duncan’s top-ten at Carnoustie

-

In the Women’s Amateur Championship at Barassie Links, Scotland’s Louise Duncan, a student at Stirling University, produced an incredibly dominant performance to win the final by a record margin of 9&8.

It was a great display of golf from the 21-year-old Scot, but 2021 was going to get even better for Duncan. In the AIG Women’s Open at Carnoustie, she finished in a tie for tenth as leading amateur.

Also noteworthy was Germany’s Matthias Schmid, who fired a Friday 65 at Royal St George’s to equal the lowest ever score by an amateur in The Open.
