How do you play the ‘stinger’?
You want the ball a little further back in your stance than you normally would, to encourage a downward angle of attack. Set your feet and shoulders a little open, and adjust your weight so it’s favouring the lead side (approximately 55/45). You want a bit of shaft lean. It’s not necessary to tee the ball up. You do need a fast turn so the club doesn’t go past you, which is why I’d generally say this is a shot for better players.
