In good hands

I agree with Sarah Stirk about the quality on show in women’s golf at the moment [January issue]. It really feels like 2021 was a breakthrough year and this was helped by the extra TV coverage available. The high point was when we were given the choice of viewing the culmination of the Fedexcup or day two of the Solheim Cup. It felt like a nobrainer for me and I know many at my club, both male and female, chose the drama on offer in Ohio.

The Solheim Cup will carry on growing and the choice of Suzann Pettersen to take over as captain for Europe was inspired. Catriona Matthew will be a hard act to follow, but Suzann embodies the passion of the event and I’m certain she is up to the task.
