PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS?

“I have to be honest, I was surprised by the response to my blog. After posting it on my Linkedin page, Meg (Maclaren) tweeted it out and the reaction was just incredible.

For a few years, people close to me had been saying I should write about my struggles, but while I was still in the heat of it all, doing anything like that would have been too emotional.

Writing it was the bit I was most scared of; I don’t write anything and never really have done. I used to ‘write’ a column for Lady Golfer magazine, but I would just have a conversation on the phone and it would be written on my behalf. So when I sat down to write that blog, it all just came pouring out of my head. Loads of it!

Originally it was all in a completely jumbled format and it was so long that no one would have read it. Seriously, it was more like a book than a piece that anyone would bother reading, so I had to cut and hack quite a lot out.

Despite all the bad stuff we see, there is a good side to social media. The support I received and well wishes are proof of that.”
