ME AND MY PUTTER

-

I’m in the classic blades camp, and I’ve always been an Anser putter. I’ve never been someone who could putt with mallets and some of the bigger putters. As soon as the Ping Heppler Anser 2 came out, I loved the look of it – it just really suits my eye. For me, looks are the most important thing, and if I was looking down on a bigger head shape, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t feel so confident. I’ve had this putter for a few years now and I’m not likely to change.

Sometimes when putting becomes a bit of a struggle, or when the confidence isn’t there, it can be a good time to try a different putter. However, I wouldn’t look to change the head shape; I’d maybe try a different colour or type of blade within Ping’s family. It’s nice to have so many options and to try different putters, but generally when I have a bad putting round it’s on me – so more the workman than the tools. My putter does have a few battle scars though!
