The third generation of the AVX – a premium ball that offers a lower flight and spin profile than the Pro V1 and Pro V1x – provides added distance via a reformulated core with a soft centre and increased stiffness in the outer portions. A new, softer urethane cover over a firmer high-flex casing layer contributes to more backspin on shorter shots, while a new 348 catenary dimple pattern, comprising of seven different dimple sizes, is said to produce a longer and more consistent trajectory on a low flight window. It goes on sale on February 4 with an RRP of £48 a dozen.
