This is all about releasing the built-up angles in your wrists at impact. It should then translate into forearm rotation and extension on the follow-through. Timing your release well helps you to deliver impact at the right moment, which has a bearing on power. Try putting a couple of tees in the ground – one where the ball would be and one a few inches beyond it – then knocking both tees away, starting out with just a simple waist-high swing.
