RULE 4.1A(3) RULE 21.1C
Pre-2023: In Stableford, there were three Exceptions for which penalties were via point deductions from total Stableford score for the round, rather than being applied to individual holes – excess, shared, added or replaced clubs; time of starting; unreasonable delay.
Now: All penalties are applied as in regular stroke play, except for the five times under this Rule where you get zero points on the hole instead of being disqualified (e.g. failing to hole out).
RULE 10.2B(1) Pre-2023:
You were allowed to set a selfstanding putter down in a standing position right behind or right next to your ball, then either leave it there or realign it to show the line of play or to help you take your stance. Now: Neither you nor your caddie are allowed to set a self-standing putter down to get help in any way that would breach Rule 10.2b. The putters themselves are not outlawed, but you will now be penalised if you use them in this way.
