Playing well in the WGC is often a good omen. Of the 10 Europeans who’ve made the semi-finals or better in Ryder Cup years since 2004, only two of them (Paul Casey and Sergio Garcia, both in 2010) have not qualified for that year’s Ryder Cup team.
