How much will a softer face and higher MOI help you on the greens?

Golf World (UK) - - CONTENTS -

Forgiveness is all in Odyssey’s new putter range.

Forgiveness isn’t the first thing you think about when you’re looking for a new putter, but it’s a performance factor that’s spawned an entirely new subgenre in recent years – high-MOI mallets. The need for greater stability at impact and consistency on off-centre hits might not be as immediately obvious on the greens as it is with a driver or iron in your hand, but the margins are so slight when you’re putting that a more forgiving putter really could save you shots.

Odyssey’s new O-Works EXO putters are engineered to boost MOI and forgiveness with a multi-material construction that combines a milled black stainless steel body with a weight-saving aluminium red section that shifts the mass out and away from the face.

There are three mallet head shapes available with a face balanced (for less face rotation in the stroke) or toe hang set-up (allowing for more face rotation), with 33, 34 or 35-inch shaft lengths. The #7 is a fanged model, the Rossie is an elongated semi-circle and the Indianapolis has a winged shape at the back of the head.
