Best US Open finish: T13, 2017 Finish in 2004: DNP
The 27-year-old Texan went 15 majors before finally finishing one of them in the top-10. He’s now come T2 and 1st in his last two, making the jump from really good to potentially great. Reed has always had an ego, proclaiming himself a top-five player in the world before he’d even teed it up in a major, but he’s now proving there is much substance behind the talk. None of his stats stand out or suggest he’s going to win another tournament any time soon. And we have him down as a long shot here because back-to-back majors are highly unlikely. You can’t help but feel he will win big again, but we can’t see him doing that here.
