TIGER WOODS

Golf World (UK) - - US OPEN -

Best US Open finish: 1st, 2000, ’02, ’08 Finish in 2004: T17

What hope of Tiger completing his resurrection with major number 15? His performances of late have been encouraging and he’s currently fifth in SG: Total this year and ninth in scoring average with 69.88. Tiger struggled to a T17 at Shinnecock in 2004 when he was No. 1 in the world, but the course will look quite different now. His driving showed signs of improvement at the Valspar Championship and Bay Hill, but he’ll certainly need to find more fairways than the 52 per cent he’s found so far this year if he’s to contend. He’s obviously stronger than he was a year ago, but probably not strong enough to challenge for the US Open out of the rough.
