Julie Powell met Camilla, the charity’s president since 2001, and heard how she became passionate about raising awareness after losing both her grandmother and then her mother to this debilitating condition. This month, Her Royal Highness joins us in looking at ways the disease can be prevented. She said, ‘I was determined, for my mother’s sake, to find out more and to find a way of helping others avoid the same excruciating pain and disregard that she, and many of her generation, encountered.’ More than 3 million people in the UK have osteoporosis.
