Sloe Gin Cranberry Sauce

A classic with a boozy boost.

Hands-on time 5min. Cooking time about 15min. Serves 8

Put 500g (1lb 2oz) fresh or frozen cranberrie­s, 150g (5oz) caster sugar and 3tbsp sloe gin into a pan and heat gently, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Increase heat, bring to the boil and continue to cook for 10min until berries have burst and sauce is thickened. Remove from the heat and stir in a further 2tbsp of sloe gin. Leave to cool before storing in the fridge.
