Strictly stars Kevin and Karen Clifton are looking forward to Christmas in New York

KEVIN: I’m the Christmas nut. I’m obsessed with it. I have a recurring dream that I wake up and have missed Christmas. Karen decorated the tree one year so I didn’t have to worry about it, but then I undecorated it because I wanted us to do it together! I have to have that moment decorating the tree with Christmas music on.

Your body adapts to being in Strictly and gets used to burning calories every day. But after the final, you just stop and suddenly you aren’t burning the calories and start packing yourself with food. You just go booof and get fat! KAREN: We are on tour next year, so we plan to really relax this Christmas. We are going back to New York and I’m looking forward to spending time with my family and seeing my nieces and nephews and eating my mother’s food. We are going to stay in, eat and lounge around being lazy. We can’t wait.

On Christmas Day in England we have turkey and I bake apple crumble. I spend the whole day in the kitchen, while Kevin watches movies. He has really got me into the Christmas spirit. We are very generous with each other’s presents. I always like everything he gets me.
