BEST FAMILY GAME The Game Of Things £32.99; ages 14+; 4 or more players

So much fun – we can imagine playing this after Christmas dinner. It comes with 300 topic cards inviting players to tackle a host of subjects, such as ‘Things… you wish grew on trees’. After reading a card, players write down their answers and everyone tries to guess who said what. Recommended for ages 14+, but we thought it could be adapted for younger players.

BEST PARTY GAME Who’s The Dude? £24.99; ages 16+; 3-8 players

One of the silliest games we’ve seen. A bit like charades, players act out what’s on the card using the life-sized inflatable Dude. Topics include ‘doing the conga’ and ‘taking part in a wheelbarrow race’. Hilarious and as competitive as you want it to be. It was tricky for the scorer to take part in guessing, so we suggest playing in teams or taking it in turns to score.
