SOURDOUGH BREAD, SALTED CARAMEL SAUCE, CAULIFLOWER CHEESE, SPARKLING ROSÉ

Good Housekeeping (UK) - - Contents -

Smothered in butter, there’s nothing better. We’ve tested 10 supermarket buys, and here are the champion loaves

WINNER

Marks & Spencer Signature £2 for 380g With a crisp, salty crust, this bread is soft yet pleasingly chewy. It smells freshly baked and has a gentle malt flavour that lingers. Even though it’s conveniently pre-sliced, it has a tempting home-made look. 77/100

RUNNER-UP

Lidl 99p for 400g This boule-style round loaf has an appealing crunchy crust, with a great bite and a deliciously spongy interior. Our testers enjoyed its salty, buttery flavour but felt it was lacking in a little acidity. This loaf is great value, too. 73/100
