ESCAPE FROM YOUR EMAILS!

1

UNSUBSCRIBE Use Cleanfox (cleanfox.io) to scan your inbox to delete and unsubscribe from marketing emails. Prefer flexibility? Use Unsubscriber (getunsubscriber.com) – just drag and drop the email you don’t want and it will never appear in your inbox again.

2

SLOW IT DOWN Reduce the temptation to check emails throughout the day by turning off notification pings. For iphone, go to Settings, Accounts and Password, then Fetch New Data, to turn off push notifications. Select Manual for Fetch Data. For Android, go to Email Settings and change Frequency to Manual. Set aside time to check and respond. If you don’t want people to think you are ignoring them, turn on automatic replies to say you’re checking your inbox periodically.

3

DON’T LOOK BACK Once you are on top of your emails, stay organised. While web-based email services, such as Gmail, don’t offer an archiving process, they won’t delete your emails either. Why not set up folders for household bills, receipts and so on. Delete anything you don’t need, to avoid clogging up your inbox with hundreds of emails.
