Help pro­tect fabric from the el­e­ments with a univer­sal fabric pro­tec­tor, such as those in the Fab­sil range (grangers.co.uk).

Stains should be dealt with as soon as pos­si­ble. Pre-treat with a bi­o­log­i­cal liq­uid deter­gent so­lu­tion, work­ing into the stain with a soft brush. Rinse, then ma­chine-wash fol­low­ing care in­struc­tions. Airdry and use a cool-to-medium iron to smooth wrin­kles.

Cush­ions too big for the wash­ing ma­chine? Choose a sunny, warm day to do the clean­ing and en­sure they dry fully to pre­vent mildew.
