Good Housekeeping (UK) - - Good Looks -

I have a new favourite lipstick. This is something I find myself saying frequently, not because I’m fickle, you understand, but because beauty brands are constantly upping their game and launching even better ones. Recently there’s been a surge in impressive matte formulations, for example, that, unlike the matte lipsticks of old, genuinely don’t feel dry and uncomfortable on your lips (try Clarins Joli Rouge Velvet, £22). Now Clinique has bowled me over with its Dramatically Different Lipstick, £20.50, which has a flattering, creamy, semi-matte finish. There’s a core of hydrating ingredients through the middle of the colour plus tiny spheres that fill in lines, so the overall effect is smoother lips that look a little plumper in whichever of the 50 shades you choose. I’ve fallen for one called Canoodle (a pinkish, slightly brown, beigey nude) and will be wearing it every day – until the next Big Thing comes along!
