Its sleek black-glass base makes it a good-looking addition to the kitchen, and it was also effortless to clean. Sturdy cast-iron pan supports are dishwasher-safe. 88/100
WINNER INDUCTION Samsung NZ64K5747BK, £479, Ao.com This great induction hob scored consistently high marks for even browning and effective heat distribution. It features a large cooking zone, which means you can use oversized cookware or fit five pans on at once, plus it has an easy-to-use control panel. The glass surface makes cleaning up spills and baked-on residue effortless. It has a couple of clever functions, including pause (which sets everything to the lowest power setting if you need to leave the kitchen) and quick start. 86/100
WINNER CERAMIC Stoves SEH700CTCMK2, £249, Ao.com A four-burner ceramic hob that was easy to cook on, and is a great all-rounder. The flat-glass top was easy to clean, too. The heat distribution was impressive, scoring almost full marks, while the safety features are second to none and include a child-lock button. An incredibly responsive control panel means setting the desired temperature or function is a breeze. 80/100
