The last great film you saw...

Booksmart. I thought it was the most extraordinary film. Director Olivia Wilde created this really cool world; it was exuberant and joyful. It had great diversity in the cast and the storyline, but didn’t knock you over the head with the political correctness of it.

The film you could watch over and over... Bridesmaids. Or ET, which was the first film I ever saw. I adored it: I was awestruck by it.

The last performance that made you cry... I cry easily, I’m not ashamed to admit! I went to see Robbie Williams in Hyde Park and he was extraordinary. I really understood his power. I hate the idea that pop music has to be in some way lesser than other genres, but to see him get thousands of people together gave me such a huge sense of community. It made me bawl my eyes out.

The performance you’d tell everyone to see... I’d recommend Ruth Negga in Portia Coughlan by Marina Carr at the Young Vic. It’s a great Irish play with a brilliant actor at the centre.

The last boxset you binged on... Fosse/verdon, with Michelle Williams and Sam Rockwell – absolutely amazing performances by them both. It’s showbizzy and visually interesting.

Top of your TV planner this month...

Aisling Bea’s new TV series This Way Up; it’s a real must-watch. It’s so special, and Aisling’s a great friend. It has a wonderful sense of authenticity in its Irishness and it’s really moving. I strongly recommend it.

The podcast you’re listening to...

How To Fail with Elizabeth Day. I think she’s an amazing woman. It’s very wise but it’s also really funny and moving.

The last album you loved... Girl From The North Country, which is based on the musical. It’s the music of Bob Dylan recreated for the stage by Conor Mcpherson. It’s just beautifully done, especially Sheila Atim’s Tight Connection To My Heart.

The last book that inspired you...

When I’m not reading scripts, I’m reading Less by Andrew Sean Greer. Sometimes scripts take over and

I get reading fatigue.

The ticket you’d love to get your hands on? Fleabag at Wyndham’s Theatre. I’ve never seen Phoebe Waller-bridge’s one-woman show. I missed it the first time round.

The Beatrix Potter Collection, narrated by Andrew Scott, is available exclusively from Audible, £11.09, free with a 30-day Audible trial and for Audible members
