Which is exactly why a pair of houndstooth check trousers gets to do all the talking when worn with a simple knit in an understated camel tone. If you’re of the opinion that tailored trousers and box-fresh white trainers are too masculine for you, wear a delicate lace blouse under the sweater to keep it ladylike.
