Iseem to spend May with a trowel in my hand. We are always very busy emptying the polytunnel of all the plants we’ve grown from tubers, seeds and cuttings. Every square metre at Perch Hill gets a refit. The colour for the next six months comes largely from tender plants that cannot go out into the garden until the frosts have passed in May.
